Writing 101 : Day 3, Commit to a Writing Practice

Well, for today’s assignment I’m going to write about the three of my favorite songs and what do they mean to me.

Song 1:

Mujhse Juda Hokar (Movie: Hum Aapke Hain Kaun)

“By Separating from me, you have to go far away from me

A moment’s separation, and you will have to return”

This song is important to me because it so nicely depicts the pain of being separated from your Love for a short time along with the hope of meeting soon. And, the video has been shot perfectly to go with the lyrics. The lovers think that although we’ll have to leave each other for a while, but with the assurance that they will have each other’s love to keep company and their wait will actually be rewarded one day. This song leaves me feeling good. Cherishing their innocent and pure love for each other. And how much they’re going to miss each other when away. Also, how it depicts the dreams the couple have for their future together(If they are serious for each other). The stories they make, the scenes they imagine(shown in the video). I just love living those moments with them(The couple in the movie).

P.S. Awwww, I’m such a Romantic.

Song 2:

Baabul(Movie: Hum Aapke Hain Kaun)

“Dear Father, whatever I’ve learnt from you in this home,

I take along all of that to my new house..”

This song is important to me, because it speaks about the pain a daughter goes through when she has to leave her Parents’ home when she gets married(In Indian culture, guys stay with their Parents throughout their life but girls stay until they get married) Although, I yet have to experience these emotions in my Life, but whenever I listen to this song I always have tears in my eyes. What a bride goes through at that time, has been so beautifully depicted in this song. What emotions she’s feeling, what she would say to her father, her mother, her sister has been so nicely said. I also have a younger sister, so i can easily relate. How she will take along the teachings from her Father, how she’d never forget the childhood stories she heard from him, how she’s going to leave behind her childhood memories and her request to her  younger sister to take care of her Parents in her absence. These words bring a plethora of emotions inside me. Its not yet happened, but will be in near future and saddens me to just even think about it.

I’m very attached to my Family, that shows why this song always evokes reactions in me.

Song 3:

Tu Na Jaane Aas Paas Hai Khuda(Movie: Anjaana Anjaani)

“You’re not aware that God’s all around you”

This song holds significance for me because i remember how once when I was really upset and stressed and I listened to this song. This song magically lifted my spirits. It asks you to remember that there is a divine presence around you. And, how you should not lose faith in yourself, and keep on walking on your path. This song is just awesome and it will directly speak to your depressed heart, your crushed spirit if you ever are in dumps and you can’t see anything worthwhile.

I’m in love with this song.

These all songs are close to my heart all for different reasons. Hope you had happy time reading the post.

5 things i learnt from the last movie I saw

Queen

The last movie which left me inspired was, Queen(hindi).

The only thought in my mind, when I left the hall was: Every girl needs to watch this movie.
It’s one of those movies which just connect with you. And you are left feeling inspired after you’ve seen this movie. The 5 things which I learnt from this movie are:

Dealing With Rejection:
There will be a number of times, people would reject us- jobs, relationships, etc. Instead of feeling overwhelmed with that crappy feeling of being rejected by someone, the most important thing to do is to accept it. And, try to make the best of what we do have in our lives.
People who have rejected you, also do not deserve you. Don’t base your own worth on the value they give you.

When One Door Closes, Another Opens:
When something bad happens to us, it feels like the end of the world. When that happens, take your time to let the feeling sunk in. And then, look beyond the current life-threatening situation and the next course of action. Life will move on anyways.

Discover what you want to do with your Life
Connect with the inner you and try to find out what makes you come alive. What you want to do with your life, keep that final decision to yourself. Your dreams and aspirations may not match with other’s values. Don’t let that stop you from following and protecting your dreams.

Accept yourself completely
You have got to protect what gives you happiness. Don’t seek approval for it from outside of you. If it feels right to you, it is. You don’t need to change yourself to fit into somebody else’s image of you. Only when you can accept the true you completely, can you expect others to follow suite.

And finally: Be the Queen of your own life, rather than thriving to be someone else’s Queen.

I would recommend this movie to every girl. 🙂
