NaPoWriMo, Day 5: Learning From Emily

I rewrote the Poem, ‘A not admitting of the wound’ by Emily Dickinson in response to the Day 5 Prompt by NaPoWriMo .

Here it is..

The delay in acknowledging wound,

Didn’t make it go away.

She remained in denial as long as she could,

But the wound grew wide, to her dismay.

The wound kept piling up,

With all the remains of her day.

For her to nip from the bud,

It had to be nailed down, come what may.
